Never got round to taking any this time. They were shooting something with some London buses and taxis against that big blue screen, but weren't there long. A few days and gone.

The Pirbright lot went after a day or two so missed my chance there too.

I've got a VHS copy of 1980s horror/sci-fi flick "Time Sweep" (or Timesweep) and one of the persons were in the abandoned film studio discovering lost printings of several movies, one of the movie he said was "See You Next Wednesday"!!!

You should be able to get the v4 firmware following the instructions here, http://www.avforums.com/forums/8590510-post787.....

If you just want plain v4 firmware (without the region free DVD mod) you can ask Toshiba themselves to send you a disc. Alternatively, hook up the player via Ethernet to get it onto the Internet and update it that way.

The avforums links however also include details on doing the region free DVD mod. These should let you upgrade to v4 firmware once the mod has been done. That's what I did with the EP35, though it was an easier process with the EP35.

I'm sure I've seen/heard it in Gremlins, Explorers and 1941. Matinee as well. The Howling? Terminator? Cocoon???? 0_o'
I can't remember if Landis was involved in any way with these movies or not. Or of it was just other people jumping on the bandwagon, or if it's my memory playing tricks on me. I need to dig them out and watch them again.

The soft porn film is fictional and in the main referenced to in American Werewolf in London. In other films 'See You Next Wednesday' is again fictional and varies (e.g. monster film, romance, cheesy sci-fi flick).

Seems to mainly be a comical reference to cheap cheesy films.

Just spotted it in a Simpsons episode ("Yokel Chords" from Season 18). Bart's at the psychiatrist and on leaving he says "See You Next Wednesday". Could be pure coincidence of course but knowing the references The Simpsons has to almost everything there's a chance it's linked.

I was watching Trading Places this afternoon and even thought I knew to look for thr poster I had a hard time fovcusing on it!! So out of sheer curiosity I googled SYNW and came to this excellent site. I will sit and peruse it at my leisure when I've pakced the kids off to bed.

Hi, thanks for the Animal House tip. I haven't seen it for a while so I'll have to go and check.

Any photos would be great, but don't go to too much trouble. I'm interested in anything really to get this site going, though I don't have much time at the moment.

Thanks for the interesting stories. Being UK based I don't get much chance to visit movie sets. Quite impressive to smuggle a medium format camera on set though!

Hi,
I typed in "seeyounextwednesday.com" to see what would happen. Your website is great! I've been hip to the SNW thing since seeing my second Landis flick, I've always searched it out since. I did not know the 2001 tie in. Hey, you missed Animal House. I actually found out it is in the Belushi / Pirate scene from Landis, through a set assistant.
I had given the assistant 8x10's of the Squirrel hill Theater featuring "See You Next Wednesday" to ask for autographs, he kindly complied. Also from Innocent Blood, Mr. Landis had SNW put on a downtown former porn theater. I have slide images of that Marquee. I also have shots of all of the neon they put up in the created porn district. I also had wandered onto the set of the gas station wreck and shot 2 rolls of medium format before being asked if I belonged on the set (I just happened to have on a Warner Brothers embroidered Leather Jacket, the movie was a WB production). I replied I was with the Pittsburgh Film Historical Society, they asked for credentials, I replied "How can I, I just made it up!" with that I was asked to leave....
If you reply that you are interested in the images, I'll dig. But for how buried they are I want to make sure your site is still active and interested.
